It's been a big week...

Look at this face!

Wow, that was a tantrum ready to happen. I think she wanted the camera. I gave her an alligator instead. It seemed to do the trick:

WHAT'S NEW?
WE HIRED A SITTER!!!!!!!!! Tomorrow nite, we have a birthday party to go to at the Slanted Door, and we both really wanted to go. I visited the Golden Gate Mother's Group site and found a sitter site. I called a girl I liked the sounds of, we met her tonite, and she's sitting tomorrow! I'm sooooo nervous, and excited. I think she'll be great. Her name is Carrie Hawkins. She seems very sweet.

Well, we've been spending a lot of time at the playground in the park. The weather's been gorgeous, and there are usually other babies there that she gets to play with. And, she loves the little swings and sliding board. Here she is playing with her sand toys. She was the only baby there on this day:

Riley won't sit still! She crawls faster than I can run, basically. And now she stands, unsupported, for about 5 seconds at a time. She gets so excited, and so do I, that after she does it, we both laugh hysterically and clap our hands. I'll try to capture it on video. By the time Russell gets home from work, I am ready to collapse. Right now, it's 9:15, and I'm going to bed as soon as I finish this.

And her hair is starting to curl! Check out these photos. How darling is this?

Here is her new favorite sleeping position:

And here's how I find her every time I hear her wake up:

Today was swim class. I'm thinking about checking out the next level higher, to see what it's like. The teacher agreed that Riley's more advanced than the other kids in her class, and I think she might like the challenge. If it's not too much for her... You should see her kicking and using her arms when I hold her in the water. And she keeps dunking her face under the water. She's a natural swimmer, I do believe!

Riley and I have decided that each week, we're going to check out a different neighborhood for lunch and a walk. So, we're looking for suggestions! What's your favorite neighborhood/lunch spot? Leave a comment! Yesterday we went to the Marina. We found a great store called Wee Scotty, that makes their own clothing and offers sewing classes! I might have to check it out.... We only went to the Marina because we were near there, getting her toddler car seat installed! That's another big thing... she's not in the infant seat anymore. And she looks so tiny in the big seat! Good... that's the only time she looks little to me; she's getting so big.

Oh, sorry about the lack of video lately... I'm out of space on my computer so I have to get an external drive. Just waiting to find the best deal. I have so much footage that once I get that, I'll be spending every waking hour editing, just trying to catch up. Great, cause I don't have enough to do already.
