I used to love daylight savings....

Normally, my favorite time of year... stays dark later in the morning, stays light later at night, the sun is warmer, all is good. Until a baby is introduced into the mix. Man, daylight savings messes with a sleep schedule. I think. The last few nights, we've put Riley to bed, only to have her wake up at 8, 10, and 12, screaming and totally unhappy. Yes, the plums might have given her a belly ache, but I would only contribute that to one night.

She's still awesome, though. We spent some time out in the sunshine today. Well, I did, and she was under the beach cabana. She loves it outside. Rolling around, crawling backwards (she can't go forwards yet), and pulling the grass out by the roots. Loves it! Here she is, basking in the outdoors:

Here's a cute movie I made that shows how much Riley loves Mr. B, the big white cat.

And here's another example of how nutty she is. She can tear her toys apart! This little thing used to be attached to her saucer:

Oh, and Clyde gave Riley a big-up on his blog this week. You don't have to read the rest of his blog... he's pretty filthy. Don't be offended, he's a pro skateboarder. Comes with the territory.

Tonite, I went to a meeting with the Golden Gate Mothers Group about preschools. Russell came home early from work to take care of Riley so I could go. First time daddy gets to do the bedtime ritual all by himself! I guess it went pretty well, except for the going-to-bed part. All Riley wants to do with dad is play. I called at 8pm to say I was coming home, and she was still hanging out and playing, with no bed in sight. Which is fine. I want them to make the best of their time together. Daddy works too much (any work is too much!!) and she really loves to spend time with him.

Here's a daddy outfit, for sure! I'm not sure if it's Olivia Newton-John or Ralph Macchio:

About the preschools. I don't even want to get into it, but speaker said she did some research, and the most expensive preschool out there is $19,000 per year. That is what I paid for college, almost 15 years ago. What the hell?!?! Uh, somehow, I think we're all in the wrong business.....

I'm tired just thinking about it. Good night.
