The best day, ever! Except....

As you can imagine based on this photo, we really did have an awesome day today. And I'll tell you all about it. In a minute. First, I have to show you this. Uh, yeah. Today was also... JUST THAT BAD. It originated with me, just innocently trying to capture some of her wonderful words and inflections on camera, and ended up like this. Oh, don't get me wrong, the first three minutes are to DIE for! Well, sure, so is the ending. Ahem.

Yep. She pooped in the tub. First time ever. Big surprise, actually, since one of the first things we learned in our pre-baby classes was that babies poop in the tub; but nope, never. Till now. And she's not a baby anymore (although my husband and my mother disagree. Opinions?). I apologized a million times to her, because as you witnessed, she warned me! I just didn't know that she was at that level of knowing when she's ready to go. Riley loves to cry wolf. But now, I'm thinking, does she? Or, is she just more accurate that I think she is? Guess we'll start the potty training for sure this week. She obviously knows the feeling she has before she goes. Yay, that's actually a huge step in her development!

So, let's not think about that anymore. We know what we have to do. On to good stuff about today. We got up at 8, did our usual weekend routine with Riley's berries and toast during cartoons, then real breakfast when daddy gets up about 10 (today it was "eewmeal"), and then off to our adventure. Today's adventure was at Point Reyes. We started with lunch. Funny, we thought we were lost, so we pulled into a parking lot, and it happened to be the place we were looking for. Dumb luck, huh? Naah, just a prelude for a great day.

We planned on going to the oyster farm, but the waitress at lunch recommended a great pumpkin farm who also had miniature pot-belly pigs. I found that they have no website (hmmm, another possible client??), so this is the link you get. We HAD to go there. I think it was the pigs that lured us there. And we're glad we did. So much fun, just as a family (even though there were only two pigs, and they both were sleeping).

They had a great maze made out of bales of hay. We actually chose the wrong route, and got caught in a dead-end. Riley and I found daddy hiding there! hehehe

And then, there was the jumpy-castle. My turn. Daddy went with her at the church fair, so I went with her here. Difference? Daddy had built-in stairs, and I had ropes to hold onto. I showed Riley how to pull herself up on the ropes two times. Then she was off, and literally leaving me in the DUST!!

Then the pumpkins. Oh, the pumpkins! We spent $53 on 3 pumpkins. Crazy? YES. Huge? YES. Worth it? YES. Look at this happy girl.

Then the tractor. We missed the hay ride, but that's OK. We had the best hayride ever at Papa's house. She had more fun trying to honk a horn that just wasn't there.

And sunshine. She brought it to the day, and she became it. As always.

I'll end with some beautiful scenery, as shot by Russell, from the farm. Nice work, dad. xo
