Goin' mobile

Well, it's happening! Quickly. Right before our eyes. And fortunately, before the camera.

This is all I have to report today. And damned proud of it....

Anonymous said...: My Heavens! the concentration on that childs face! And she will NOT use anything to help her stand up....no way....she will do it on her own. A little glimpse into the person she will become, I think. Independent, strong willed, self-assured with lots of perseverance, not to mention, totally gorgeous!!!
Can't wait for her to run into my arms!

Milestones and stuff

3/10 "Mama, can i have a costume like those peacock dancers?" (meaning, flamingo, er, flamenco dancers)
3/10 "Mama, come over here. you need to concentrate on ballet." (while i was cooking dinner)
8/15/09 "Domo origato, Mr. Roboto, Domo! Domo!"
10/7/08 Sings first half of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
9/15/08 1 to 10 complete. Yeah, baby.
8/08 "ABCDEFG....QRSTUVWXY and Z" The middle is there, but in Japanese, for now....
8/08 Counts to 10, regularly skipping 6 and 7
8/19/08 Said 'ABCDE' and 'RSTUV'
8/5/08 Climbs, very steadily and quickly, a wall ladder at AcroSports. Then jumps down. Uh, thank god I was there to catch her...
8/08 Counted to 10 by herself ('by self')
8/08 'Mastered' (within reason) sharing and taking turns
7/10/08 Second sentence... "Windy, mommy. Close it, please, mommy." referring to the windows in the car, driving down the road.
7/8/08 First sentence... 'My bow came off!" referring to a bow on her pants that came untied.
6/4/08 Peed in her potty!
6/3/08 We transformed her crib into a toddler bed with guard rail. She's used to it 3 days later.
4/08 Putting strings of words together (2 or 3 at a time)
4/08 Started learning colors (first ones were 'onge' and 'porpor')
12/26/07 Climbed onto a chair and got some things off the kitchen table
12/16/07 Showed me a little cut on her finger and said "Ow!"
12/4/07 Sees a baby and yells "Baby!"
10/19/07 Makes fishy lips when asked 'What does fishy do?', makes 'oo-oo-oo' sound for monkey
10/18/07 Carried her stepstool to help her climb onto the coffee table
10/18/07 Used her fork to intentionally pick things out of her bowl
9/26/07 Climbed. Onto horsey. Then, off.
9/12/07 "Oh-oh!"
9/10/07 "Meow!!"
9/7/07 Learned to blow kisses
8/23/07 Repeats "no, no, no"
8/15/07 Points at what she wants
7/26/07 Grinding her teeth (yeeeesh!, like nails on the chalkboard)
7/24/07 Walked across the room
7/21/07 Broke her third tooth... top left
7/11/07 Took TWO steps!!!
6/30/07 Drank from a cup. Whoa Nelly, that was a messy one!
6/13/07 Crawled. On her hands and FEET.
5/12/07 Broke her first tooth... bottom left
5/4/07 Stood without support for 5 seconds
4/10/07 Was standing in her crib, smiling at me, when I walked in this morning

1/23/07 Sitting up. For real.
1/7/07 Riley sat up on her own for a few seconds!
12/31/06 She put her left foot in her mouth
