Yesterday, Russell came home early from work, and met Riley and me at the beach. We had such a great time. Here is a segment of Riley getting used to the water. Boy, it was freezing! But after a few minutes, you get used to it. Afterwards we bundled her in a big, cozy towel.
Today, we spent most of the day shopping. Riley was the lucky one, of course... it was almost like her birthday all over again. We bought her a stroller to put her baby doll in, because at the last library event we went to, she nearly stole another little girl's stroller! When she saw it in the store, she kept saying "aaaaaw... oooooh... waaaoooow..." When we got home, she wheeled it all over the house. And, of course, kept turning it upside-down to figure out how the wheels work. Definitely shows the Richardson blood!!
We also got a tricycle for her. I know, she's only one, but this one is a convertible. Meaning, for now, we push it with a long handle, then when she's old enough to ride it by herself, the handle comes off and it's a regular trike. And, it got great reviews on Amazon... Love it! Can't wait to take her for a walk with it tomorrow.
Then we went to Old Navy. They had all their summer stuff on sale for really cheap, so we had to get her a few things. And, Russell went into Target to get her a couple of step-stools so she can see out the windows. She loves them. I'm sure it won't be long before she carries them around with her, to get up onto things that she shouldn't be on. She's already thrown them across the room. That's step one.
